Brass Tacks Retained by Symbol Technologies to Launch RFID, The Right Way Initiative

Cleveland, OH

Brass Tacks Advertising today announced that it has been selected by Symbol Technologies of Holtsville, NY, (NYSE/SBL) to provide strategic marketing and sales tools in their fast-growing RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) division of Symbol's global products group.

Symbol Technologies is the world's largest provider of portable data terminals and bar code scanners. The company is rapidly integrating RFID technology into their other core technologies after the recent acquisition of Matrics, Inc., a recognized leader in EPC (electronic product code) -compliant RFID systems in September of 2004.

The first initiative designed by Brass Tacks has been rolled-out in January, 2005. The Symbol Certified Label Converter Program is a marketing campaign designed to introduce Symbol's RFID technology through a select group of North American roll tag and label converters.

The comprehensive program with its singular vision of RFID, The Right Way, calls for providing roll label converters with complete RFID tag training and ongoing technical and marketing support.

“The sales support programs and tools developed by Brass Tacks will help us accelerate our RFID growth goals,” said Dave Eastin, Symbol's Director of Label Development.

RFID tags allow business to capture information in real time, instantaneously move that information and then manage it efficiently and securely. They are used in virtually all industries, with immediate application in the retail, pharmaceutical, consumer packaged goods (CPG) and governmental arenas.
